PRAB, Inc. , a privately owned company currently operates three subsidiaries, PRAB, PRAB MONLAN, and Hapman.
PRAB, is a leading manufacturer of industrial conveyors and systems for the collection and processing of scrap metal materials. PRAB was founded in 1950 in Detroit, Michigan as a manufacturer of metal scrap handling conveyors serving the post-war automotive industry. The name PRAB was derived from the initials of the two original founders, Peter Rupe and Alan Bodycomb. In 1961, the company was sold and relocated to Kalamazoo, Michigan where the company's conveyor line was greatly expanded along with the development of complete scrap metal processing systems. These include metal chip processing systems along with Dualpak™ Briquetters, which are privately labeled through Neff Press. Dualpak Briquetters increases the value of metal turnings and chips while recovering valuable cutting fluids and coolants. PRAB also manufactures crushers and shredders, parts separators (for tramp metal removal), chip wringers (for coolant recovery), collection/storage/distribution systems and coolant filtration equipment through its PRAB/Monlan division.
Hundreds of companies are using PRAB engineered solutions to automate their industrial metal scrap handling, reducing labor costs, reclaiming expensive coolants and maximizing their return on recycling scrap metals - Many of these installations have been in operation for decades. Hapman www.Hapman.com, acquired in 1972, has its roots in conveying as well. In addition, Hapman has a wide variety of bulk handling equpment including Bulk Bag Unloaders, Bulk Bag Fillers, Bag Dump Stations, and the exclusive SolidQuid™ Powder & Liquid Delivery System. Hapman serves the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, plastics, packaging, mining and waste water treatment industries.
PRAB MONLAN, formerly known as The MonlanGroup was part of Envirodyne Technology's suite of companies; along with Kalamazoo Fabricating and STC Dip Spin.
PRAB MONLAN www.PRABMonlan.com is a leading supplier of coolant recovery and filtration solutions which include Hyde Tramp Oil Separators, Guardian Coolant Recycling Systems, Delta Force Filtration Systems for wastewater and coolant recovery, and Ultrafiltration Systems that help extend the life of washwater and rinsewater in most industrial applications. These systems are sold through the division's office in Kalamazoo as well as its sales and service center near Cleveland, Ohio.
Kalamazoo Fabricating (www.KalFab.com) is a full service steel and stainless steel fabricating facility. Established in 1987, Kal-Fab supplies a full range of fabricated assemblies; from the simplest machined and fabricated parts to complex, fully assembled, tested and operational machines.
STC Dip Spin www.STCDipSpin.com has served the metal finishing industry since 1965. This division offers centrifugal coating equipment used to apply corrosive resistant paints and coating on bulk parts. STC Dip Spin's full line of equipment is used by major automotive companies and their suppliers as well as major hardware manufacturers;
PRAB's headquarters incorporates sales, engineering, customer service, and fabrication in a clean, modern 6 500 m2 manufacturing facility located close to Interstate 94, mid-way between Chicago and Detroit. In addition, PRAB provides an extensive testing facility (for both divisions) and encourages product testing to properly evaluate its customers processing needs.
