Operation
The process begins by unloading metal chips into a load-in hopper. Augers, located in the bottom of this hopper transfer these chips to an elevating screw conveyor located at the side of the hopper. Chips arrive at the in-feed auger located above the briquetting area. A metered volume of chips is then forced downward into the briquetter compression chamber. Once the chamber is loaded, two opposed hydraulic cylinders are actuated and metal chps are compacted into solid briquettes. During the process, residual fluids are removed due to the intense pressure exerted on the chips and collected. Dry briquettes are ejected from the compression chamber and elevated by a conveyor to be deposited into your collection area. Standard control panel is a touch screen with numerous functions including error reporting and diagnostics. The PRAB Briquetter is engineered from over 40 years of hydraulic experience by Neff Press.
