Chip Processing Demo Lab
of various system components. Demonstrations will establish throughput and dryness rates as well as confirm proper equipment selection.

PRAB maintains a full-size dedicated metal chip processing system and MiniSystem™ to demonstrate efficiencies and compatibility |
Testing difficult materials: Systems are custom designed to meet your specific need and throughput requirements. The 2nd selection photo shows part of PRAB's actual demo system located within our manufacturing plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It includes a VAC-II metal crusher with feed hopper, steel belt (wringer feed conveyor), integrated system controls, model "R" tramp metal separator, 24-AD chip wringer, and pneumatic piping to a cyclone discharge located at the rear of the system.
Testing less demanding materials: The 3rd selection photo is similar to the above system but replaces the VAC-II with PRAB's SMD-18 metal turnings shredder to reduce stringy material for efficient non-stop metal chip processing. A simple feed hopper accommodates manual and fork lift assisted delivery methods to introduce material into the system.
Briquetting Demo Lab
As a first step, PRAB's lab personnel will determine if material "pre conditioning" is required, including if shredding, crushing or solids removal, before briquetting. If required, this ancillary equipment (as shown in selection photo 5) is also manufactured by PRAB, allowing our customers the benefits which may be derived from a complete single source system. During material tests, calculations as to pressure and time are determined so as to provide optimum Briquetter performance and a superior briquette of the material. Most briquettes will be in the range of 90% solid and 98% moisture free with reclaimed cutting fluids captured for re-use. Tests are done at no charge to the customer with the exception of some exotic and hazardous metals and/or materials.
Note: In the above tests, PRAB's equipment recommendations and equipment performance guarantees only apply to the material tested in its submitted physical state, at time of testing. Any customer omissions in this or future changes in material and/or its physical state will void any performance guarantees of purchased PRAB equipment.

PRAB performs free briquetting tests on all metals, with various chip configurations to determine the viability of briquetting for our customers. |
